Small Group Classes • Friendly Teachers

At Conversa Language Center, you will learn English fast in small group (2 – 10 students) English as a second language classes. You will have many opportunities to speak English with your friendly teachers and classmates. Practice English language skills while connecting with other students during our birthday and graduation celebrations and field trips. Our student lounge has a dining area with TV and games. After class, step out into downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, a vibrant American city of 2 million people. Practice speaking English in restaurants, shopping centers, sporting events, festivals and many more exciting places!

Conversa’s Intensive English Program:

  • 24 hours of English language instruction per week
  • 4 classes: Integrated English Skills, Conversation & Pronunciation, TOEFL & IELTS Test Preparation, Reading & Writing

Conversa’s Semi-Intensive English Program:

  • 20 hours of English language instruction per week
  • 2 classes: Integrated English Skills, Reading & Writing
  • Classes are 9 am to 1:55 pm, Monday to Thursday and 9 am to 12:30 pm on Friday

Conversa’s Express English Program:

  • 6 hours of English language instruction per week
  • Same material as our Integrated English class, but more concentrated
  • Each unit is about one topic/theme combining grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation and conversation.
  • Learn more English vocabulary, reinforced through interactive lessons
  • Classes are 12 to 3 pm OR 3 to 6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays

Single Class Descriptions

Integrated English Skills (14 hours/week) A corpus-based class that will help you learn English fast:

  • Study American English to improve your everyday conversation
  • Each unit is about one topic/theme combining grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation and conversation.
  • Learn more English vocabulary, reinforced through interactive lessons and student presentations.

Conversation & Pronunciation Class (4 hours/week) You will study American English pronunciation and how to easily have a conversation in English:

  • Topics using everyday English language, and also academic and business topics.
  • Learn all parts of pronunciation: sounds, stress, rhythm, and intonation

Standardized English Test Preparation Class (14 hours/week) You will learn test taking skills for the TOEFL & IELTS and other tests like the TOEIC and Pearson Versant. In this class you will:

  • Take placement and practice tests for the TOEFL and IELTS tests.
  • Improve your Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking skills so you can pass the tests.

Reading & Writing Class (6 hours/week)

  • Build reading skills for newspapers, magazines, business, university courses and TOEFL/IELTS tests.
  • Learn writing skills needed to succeed at universities in the United States or in business.

CLASS LEVELS & START DATES

One Session = 4 weeks. Study for just one session, or many! Conversa has 5 levels: Beginning to Advanced. Each level takes 3 sessions (12 weeks) to complete. It takes a total of 15 sessions (60 weeks) to go from Low Beginner to Advanced. You can start any session or month of the year. For more information on enrollment dates, please see Conversa 2015 Schedule and Enrollment Dates below. You will take a level placement test during the orientation before you start classes.

Conversa’s Vacation Schedule: Conversa has a total of 4 weeks of vacation every year.
