Job Opportunities At Conversa

 

Conversa offers core courses such as grammar and writing with a choice of elective courses in TOEFL or conversation. Classes have an average of 5 students with a minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 10. Students can get personal attention and opportunities to speak English. A computer lab is available with Internet access. We have a student lounge with cable TV, electronic games, and shuffleboard.

(Conversa’s cirriculum) (available in English only) is designed for the student to learn English in a short time.

Course Descriptions:

Grammar: Teaches basic through advanced English grammar. This is useful for the TOEFL, American universities, or work-related English. (5.5 hours/week)

Reading Comprehension: Improves your comprehension and vocabulary for books, newspapers, etc. (4.5 hours/week)

Writing Skills: Beginning students learn to write sentences and paragraphs. Intermediate and advanced students learn to write convincing essays. Advanced students write creative stories, proposals, and more. (3.7 hours/week)

Listening Comprehension: Learn to understand spoken English in conversational situations, television, films, and in the office or university classroom. (2 hours/week)

Pronunciation: Learn the best pronunciation of American English. Learn proper pronunciation of specific sounds and the intonation of different types of sentences. (3 hours/week)

Optional Classes:

TOEFL: Learn how to take the test, practice with audio tapes, and learn advanced grammar & vocabulary. (3 hours/week)

Conversation: Practice your speaking skills with other students.  Your teacher will prepare special activities to use your English in practical situations.  Students like this class. They use what they learn in all the other classes to speak and participate in real life situations. (3 hours/week)

Class Schedule:

The schedule below shows the times classes meet.  Students on a student visa must take 22.5 hours per week of group classes or 18 hours per week of private classes. However, those not on a student visa can study the courses they wish.  For example they could take only the grammar class or the conversation class.

You can begin your classes any week and study for as little as one week, a month, or even a whole year or more. Please tell us what your schedule is, what your goals are and what your budget is. We can help you determine the best schedule for you.
